High School Science TeacherThe Charles School at Ohio Dominican University (TCS@ODU) is looking for a High School Science for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Read more about our program!Position Overview:As a graduation requirement, Science courses prepare students for informed citizenship by understanding basic to advance scientific processes and knowledge. By having a fundamental understanding of the scientific method, students will be able to apply critical thinking skills to future experiences in their post-secondary life. Conduct safe and appropriate science labs and demonstrations which actively engage students in scientific discovery. Help to spark curiosity and joy in learning science in all students. Responsible for teaching a full course load (three blocked periods with one prep period daily) of science courses. Develops syllabus, grading expectations, course sequence, title and all course details in conjunction with the building leadership, department and counseling team.Develops a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute to the community, learn, express questions/concerns/thoughts, and deepen their growth as a life-long learner. Follow building guidance regarding parental communication, classroom management norms, and PBIS expectations.With the building leadership and grade level teams, write, implement, and evaluate Crew lessons. Develop your Crew class culture such that the school's mission, vision and core values are reflected. Staff members often have additional responsibilities and duties to help the school function safely and effectively.
